The data obtained by solid state high resolution O-17 and Y-89 NMR on
O-17 enriched C- and B-Y2O3 have been interpreted using their known cr
ystallographic structures (coordinance, averaged distances, site popul
ation). For O-17 three types of coordinances are observed: OY4 for C-Y
2O3 (one site, 359 ppm) and B-Y2O3 (three sites at 383, 377 and 346 pp
m), OY5 and OY6 for the monoclinic phase (313 and 242 ppm). In the cas
e of Y-89, the two octahedral OY6 sites in C-Y2O3 are unambiguously la
belled (314 and 273 ppm).
