Abstract
The first step of the formation of pesticide-bound residues with soil humic polymers is modelled by reacting -NH2 carrying herbicides and th eir metabolites with methylcatechol under oxidative conditions. The ad dition products, characterized by infrared absorption and H-1-MNR spec troscopies, are N-substituted 4-amino-orthoquinones.
