Abstract
Many natural systems, such as the leaf arrangement on the plant stem, reproduce a pattern describing a fairly regular paving. There are no t ools for the morphological description of these arrangements. A spectr al analysis method, derived from that at Fry (1978) was a model built up by integrating the whole topological parameters of regular paving. Tested on the phyllotaxy of the genus Lepidodendron, this tool is of i nterest because it is applied to incomplete fragments of unknown diame ter.
