Abstract
We report two cases of pyroglobulinemia detected in the course of rout ine determination of fibrinogen levels measured by the heat-precipitat ion method and that led to the diagnosis of Waldenstrom's macroglobuli nemia. The incidence of pyroglobulinemia is briefly discussed, and the potential significance of this laboratory artifact is emphasized. (C) 1995 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
