Ls. Hsu et Ctt. Hsu, COMPLETE STRESS-STRAIN BEHAVIOR OF HIGH-STRENGTH CONCRETE UNDER COMPRESSION, Magazine of Concrete Research, 46(169), 1994, pp. 301-312
A series of compression tests were conducted on 3 x 6 in. (76.2 x 152.
4 mm) cylindrical specimens using a modified testing method that gave
the complete stress-strain behaviour for high-strength concrete with o
r without tie confinements. Empirical equations are proposed to repres
ent the complete stress-strain relationships of unconfined and confine
d high-strength concretes with compressive strength exceeding 10 kip/i
n(2) (69 MPa). Various parameters were studied and their relationships
were experimentally determined. The proposed empirical stress-strain
equations are compared with actual cylinder tests under axial compress
ion, and are found to agree well.
