Abstract
The difference poset of real-valued functions (fuzzy sets) is investig ated. The difference posets on some subsets bf the unit real interval [0, 1] are characterized. It is shown that although it is not always p ossible to represent the difference by some generator, for dense subse ts such a representation exists and is unique.
