Abstract
Soil washing in the United States has been studied and evaluated with increasing thoroughness during the last 15 to 20 years. It is now ente ring a phase of actual use and acceptance as its applicability and eco nomics become clearer. This paper reviews the principles behind soil w ashing, methods of predicting and measuring its performance, some typi cal soil-washing processes, and several recent field applications.
