Abstract
The purpose of this study was to uncover patients more at risk of beco ming ALC. ALC patients are most likely to enter the hospital through t he Emergency Department and are most likely to be female without a spo use. Males who are younger and alone also have a greater chance of bec oming ALC. This highlights the importance of identifying patients earl y in the treatment process who are at risk of becoming ALC. By doing s o length of stay in the hospital can be reduced.
