ues (3600 bar oxygen, 600 degrees C). Hg3CrO6 crystallizes with trigon
al symmetry, space group D-3(6)-P3(2)12, a = 7.137(1), c = 10.017(2)An
gstrom, Z = 3. Nearly linear O-Hg-O dumb-bells are connected in planes
, forming strongly puckered nets of six-membered rings. Each Hg6O6 rin
g is centered by a CrO4 tetrahedron; the CrO4 tetrahedra are arranged
in two equally occupied split positions.
