Ultrasonic velocity and viscosity measurements, namely of TBP + methan
ol, TBP + ethanol, TBP + benzene, and TBP + CCl4 have been used to stu
dy molecular interaction at 303 K. Grunberg-Nissan parameter (d), exce
ss Gibbs energy (G(E)) intermolecular free length (L(f)), acoustic imp
edance (Z), isentropic compressibility (beta), molar sound velocity (U
-m), and available volume (V-a) have been calculated from these data.
The excess parameters for the factors beta, Z, and V-a are also evalua
ted. TBP-methanol and TBP-ethanol interaction leads to the formation o
f clusters of dissimilar molecules.
