Abstract
Computerized tomography (CT) scanning and diagnostic peritoneal lavage have often been seen as competing modalities in the assessment of blu nt abdominal trauma. Each has its own strengths and weakness. A judici ous use of both modalities can result in improved diagnostic accuracy. An algorithm for their appropriate use is suggested.
