Abstract
The alcoholic extract of pfaffia paniculata dried roots was studied fo r analgesic antiinflammatory activity in the rat paw oedema test, writ hing test, hot plate test and increased vascular permeability. Pfaffia paniculata inhibited the carrageenin-induced rat paw oedema and incre ased vascular permeability and showed analgesic activity on inflammato ry pain but not on noniinflammatory pain. Moreover the extract was dev oid of local irritant action.
