Abstract
In analysis of instability at loci yellow and scute, induced by introd uction of the active P-element transposase into the genome of line Y2n s sc(me), alleles of these loci with transposase-independent instabili ty were selected. The mutation rate of these alleles reached tens of p ercent. Two types of transposase-independent instability were describe d: (1) instability limited to the scute locus and (2) instability at b oth yellow and scute loci.
