Abstract
We report efficient amplification of weak femtosecond supercontinuum p ulses by a stimulated Raman scattering process in pressurized Ha gas e xcited with 350-fs-duration frequency-doubled pulses from a regenerati ve-amplified Ti:sapphire laser. An amplification factor of 10(9) is ob tained at the wavelength of 465 nm for seed pulses produced by superco ntinuum generation in glass. (C) 1996 Optical Society of America.
