Resonance Raman and infrared spectra of the organic superconductor kap
pa-(MDT-TTF2)AuI2 were measured to identify the vibrational modes whic
h exhibit strong electron-molecular vibration (EMV) coupling. Excitati
on wavelength dependence of certain Raman modes was observed and is di
scussed in connection with the UV-visible absorption spectrum. Raman s
pectra measured at 77 K revealed a significant enhancement of a low-wa
venumber mode attributed to the organic part, while the symmetric AuI2
- anion was found to be unaffected at low temperatures.
