C-13 and N-15 NMR measurements are reported from a study of five mesoi
onic compounds containing either the 2,3-diphenyl- or 1,3-diphenyltetr
azolium ring, and either the 2,3-diphenyltetrazolium ring or its linea
r analogue as an exocyclic group. Three N-15-labelled compounds were s
ynthesized for signal assignment purposes. Some N-15-C-13 and N-15-N-1
5 coupling constants were determined. A proton was found to be located
on the exocyclic groups of two of the compounds.
