Abstract
Reasons for the need for a coordinated multi-centered documentation fo r quality safeguarding are given. Based upon experiences with patient documentation, where 13 child and youth psychiatries in the German sta tes Lower Saxony and Bremen participated for one year, problems with a documentation system are shown and discussed. In conclusion recommend ations are given for carrying out such studies, which will become more important in the framework of quality safeguarding in child and youth psychiatries.
