Abstract
It is shown that it is possible to alter the microstructure of polycry stalline optical zinc sulfide by recrystallization under conditions of high-temperature plastic deformation under uniaxial and isostatic com pression. By altering the microstructure of the samples, it is possibl e to purposefully alter the optical and mechanical properties of polyc rystalline optical zinc sulfide.
