Abstract
This paper describes a method for forming glass balls from blanks of a noncircular shape. The forces acting on the ball in the processing zo ne are considered, and they are calculated for various geometrical and kinematic parameters of the apparatus and the blank. The results of e xperiments to determine the productivity of the process are presented, and it is shown that they correlate with the main regularities of the numerical studies.
