Abstract
Liquid and solid (polymer films and triplexes) absorption filters have been developed on the basis of new polymethine dyes for protection fr om laser radiation. This paper discusses the features of the spectral, photochemical, and protective properties of the dyes in various media . Attenuation of laser radiation at lambda = 1060 nm by 4.2 orders of magnitude has been achieved with a total visual transmittance of 88% a nd by 6 orders of magnitude with a value of the latter of 39%.
