Abstract
A series of Y-based 2126 compounds, La1-xSr1+xYCu2O6 (x=0 to 0.5), has been prepared. Crystal structure and cation distribution are determin ed by Rietveld analysis of X-ray powder diffraction data. Small Y ions occupy (2a) site preferentially. All the studied samples including HI P treated ones are semiconducting and no superconducting transition is observed down to 20K. VRH model is applicable as a transport mechanis m at low temperatures.
