Abstract
The authors report the room temperature operation of an InGaAs/InP bas ed Wannier-Stark modulator in a waveguide configuration as a self-elec tro-optic effect device for the generation of various nonlinear optica l transfer functions for TE polarised light at 1.55 mu m. Optical bist ability has been achieved and the application of the device as an opti cal power discriminator is demonstrated.
