Membrane distillation experiments have been carried out by using two G
elman PTFE porous hydrophobic membranes and various sodium chloride aq
ueous solutions. The influence of stirring rate on the experimental re
sults has been discussed by means of the so-called temperature polariz
ation coefficient. The influence of the remaining relevant parameters,
such as solute concentration, mean temperature, and bulk temperature
difference has been analyzed.
