R. Senger et Wh. Goldmann, THE INFLUENCE OF CATIONS AND IONIC-STRENGTH ON ACTIN POLYMERIZATION IN THE PRESENCE ABSENCE OF ALPHA-ACTININ/, Biochemistry and molecular biology international, 35(1), 1995, pp. 103-109
The presence of alpha-actinin has little influence on polymerizing act
in with regards to the lag phase, rate and amplitude. Rising KCl or Mg
Cl2 concentrations parallel an increase in polymerization rate and a d
ecrease in lag phase for both protein species. The observed overall sm
aller actin fluorescence amplitudes in the presence of alpha-actinin i
s due to a higher ratio of free G-actin to F-actin at steady state.
