Abstract
A new method for the analysis of inhomogeneously broadened luminescenc e spectra is proposed. The developed technique uses the phenomenon of stimulated selective quenching of luminescence from activator centers in various structure-nonequivalent sites. Results of investigations of multisite activation in LiCaAlF6:Ce3+ crystals are presented. We acco unt for the discrepancy between the measured efficiency of a LiCAF:Ce laser and the theoretical estimate of the limiting efficiency of this laser.
