K. Dziubek et al., EFFECT OF DERIVATIVES OF 2-THIOHYDANTOIN-3-ACETIC ACID ON GLUTATHIONE(GSH) CONTENT IN SELECTED ORGANS OF MICE, Acta Biologica Cracoviensia. Series Zoologia, 36, 1994, pp. 1-12
The effect of some derivatives of 2-thiohydantoin-3-acetic acid on the
concentration of GSH in the blood, brain, liver, and kidneys was exam
ined. GSH content was determined by the technique of Ellman. In most c
ase administration of both 30 mg/kg and 60 mg/kg doses decreased the c
oncentration of GSH in the blood, brain and kidneys. The results obtai
ned suggest that the administrated derivatives of 2-thiohydantoin-3-ac
etic acid are not inductors of the synthesis of GSH in the brain, bloo
d and kidneys.
