Nine novel cyclodextrin derivatives were synthesized and characterized
by H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, FT-TR, TLC, and elemental analysis. A solvent m
ixture consisting of acetone and water(5:1) was found effective for se
paration and purification of modified cyclodextrins bearing one or two
hydrophobic moieties. The purification method of beta-CD-6-OTs was im
proved.
