Abstract
Five cases of giant hydronephrosis due to ureteropelvic junction obstr uction in childhood are reported. Leading symptoms were flank pain in 2 older children and urinary tract infection in 2 infants. The diagnos is was established by routine ultrasound in 1 asymptomatic child. A py eloplasty was possible in 3 patients. Two other children required neph rectomy.
