The heteropolyacid salt inorganic exchanger triammonium dodecamolybdop
hosphate (AMP) was subjected to an electron dose up to 2 MGy to assess
any possible radiation damage. The breakthrough and total exchange ca
pacity of AMP for Cs+ from simulated fission product solutions were de
termined for both control and irradiated samples. The scanning electro
n microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) were dep
loyed to examine any marked microscopic changes taking place in this e
xchanger. Copyright (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd
