Abstract
Excimer laser treated polymer foils have been investigated with respec t of their surface morphological changes. Laser fluences below the abl ation threshold caused regular (in large scale) and irregular (in smal l scale) patterns on the surface of irradiated foils. The observed pec uliarities in surface morphology have been characterized within the fr amework of fractals. The fractal (box-counting) dimension of irradiate d areas in the range of applied fluences has been determined.
