Abstract
Relatively few health education interventions directed at preventive h ealth behaviors and management of chronic illness among Native America ns have been reported in the literature. This article provides a selec tive review of health education interventions among Native Americans t hat address the prevention and management of chronic illnesses/conditi ons as well as preventive health behaviors. For each intervention incl uded in the review, a description of its cultural relevance, sample, d esign, and evaluation is provided. Limitations are noted, as well as i mplications for research and practice.
