Aa. Matveev et Vp. Silakov, THE CHOICE OF THE FRANCK-CONDON-FACTORS DATABASE FOR CALCULATING KINETIC CHARACTERISTICS OF LOW-TEMPERATURE NITROGEN PLASMA, High energy chemistry, 29(1), 1995, pp. 52-55
The influence of the selection of the Franck-Condon-factors database o
n electron energy distribution in a low-temperature nitrogen plasma wa
s discussed. Databases were formed by quantum-mechanical calculations
of relative probabilities of electron-vibrational transitions in an N2
molecule using the models of harmonic oscillator, anharmonic Morse os
cillator, and RKR interaction potential for N atoms. It was shown that
electron energy distribution is not very sensitive to the interaction
potential in a molecule. It was also found that values for some high-
threshold rate coefficients at profound vibrational disequilibrium dep
end a great deal on the careful consideration of the role of upper vib
rational levels of the ground electronic state in the formation of ele
ctronically excited molecules.
