Abstract
From commercially available 3-hydroxpyridines, several 3-pyridineprope noic ethyl esters were prepared in good yield via Heck coupling of eth yl acrylate and the pyridyl triflate. In general LiCl accelerated the coupling, but was not required for ah reactions.
