AUSTRALIAN MITES OF THE GENERA PARAPHYTOSEIUS SWIRSKI AND SHECHTER AND PARAAMBLYSEIUS MUMA (ACARINA, PHYTOSEIIDAE)

We report the amblyseiine genera Paraphytoseuis and Paraamblyseius fro m Australia for the first time based on collections from subtropical t o tropical rainforests, and provide diagnoses for both genera. Paraphy toseius hilli sp.n. is described from Queensland, P. seychellensis Sch icha and Corpuz-Raros is reported from numerous collections in Queensl and and both sexes are described in terms of currently used setal desi gnations. Paraamblyseius dinghuensis (Wu and Qian) is reported from Ne w South Wales and Queensland. A key to the world species of Paraphytos eius is presented.
