AZAMACROCYCLIC COMPLEXATION OF BISMUTH(III) - FORMATION AND STRUCTUREOF FAC-(BICL3-CENTER-DOT-ME(3)[9]ANEN(3)) WHERE [9]ANEN(3)=1,4,7-TRIMETHYL-1,4,7-TRIAZACYCLONONANE

Addition of bismuth(III) chloride and the triaza macrocyclic ligand Me (3)[9]aneN(3) provided the dark yellow 1:1 adduct whose structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction. In the resulting half-sandwich a rrangement the tridentate N-donor macrocycle and the three chlorine at oms occupy opposite faces of an octahedral bismuth(III) ion.
