Abstract
The progress of laser fusion research at the Institute of Laser Engine ering, Osaka University is reviewed. They are physics investigations o n target implosion, development of laser technologies, and R&D for las er fusion power plants. The long term strategy of Inertial Fusion Ener gy (IFE) development has been reexamined taking into account the recen t progress of implosion physics and reactor related technologies.
