J. Nijhuis et al., ON THE OPTIMAL MAPPING OF FUZZY RULES ON STANDARD MICRO-CONTROLLERS, Microprocessing and microprogramming, 40(10-12), 1994, pp. 697-700
Once a fuzzy controller is specified by a rule-set, it can be implemen
ted in dedicated hardware ol as a software program. For industrial app
lications, an inexpensive micro-controller with limited resources is o
ften selected. The implementation (or mapping) issue then leads to a t
radcoff between operation speed and memory usage. This paper presents
a set of basic transformation rules that allows the designer to optimi
ze such a mapping.
