Abstract
Dispersive acoustic bistability, auto-oscillations and the transition to chaotic behaviour through the sequence of doubling-period bifurcati ons have been studied in an ultrasonic experiment. The theoretical mod el, taking into account the thermal mechanism of acoustic non-linearit y, is presented.
