A full structural and stereochemical assignment was achieved for sever
al diastereoisomeric oxaspiro[4.4]nonane derivatives by the concerted
use of modern gradient-based 1D and 2D experiments, The clean NOE data
quickly obtained from high-quality GROESY spectra together with proto
n and carbon chemical shift correlations afforded the main clue in suc
h stereochemical elucidations.
