Jc. Ronda et al., STUDIES ON THE MICROSTRUCTURE OF POLY(PHENYL GLYCIDYL ETHER) USING THE C-13 NUCLEAR-MAGNETIC-RESONANCE TECHNIQUE, Polymer, 36(3), 1995, pp. 471-478
Microstructural details of poly(phenyl glycidyl ether) (PPGE) and its
optically active form obtained by the aluminium isopropoxide (AIP)/ZnC
l2 ionic-coordinative initiator were analysed by nuclear magnetic reso
nance techniques. In order to assign the soluble fraction signals unmi
stakably, PPGE samples had to be synthesized using various cationic in
itiator systems. Several modifications were studied in the AIP/ZnCl2 i
nitiator system (such as the use of various zinc salts and the additio
n of water) and the tacticity and irregularity contents of the polymer
s were determined.
