In the United Kingdom, clinical biochemistry is practised by medical a nd non-medical graduates. Their training is postgraduate, led by the p rofession and has a strong vocational orientation. The training of non-medical biochemists has recentl y been restructured. Their new training programme is described in deta il; for comparison, the training of medical graduates is outlined.
