Abstract
A numerical analysis of second- and third-order modal dispersions in s ingly clad multimode optical fibers is presented. We show that, becaus e of their cutoff properties, singly clad multimode optical fibers cou ld provide modal dispersions characteristics similar to those observed in multiclad single mode fibers.
