T. Iida et al., HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHIC SEPARATION OF NONAMIDATED ANDGLYCINE-AMIDATED AND TAURINE-AMIDATED BILE-ACID 3-GLUCOSIDES, Journal of liquid chromatography, 18(4), 1995, pp. 701-711
The high-performance liquid chromatographic separation of Phe 3-glucos
ides of nonamidated lithocholic, chenodeoxycholic, ursodeoxycholic, de
oxycholic and cholic acids, and their double conjugate forms with glyc
ine and taurine has been carried out on a C18 reversed-phase column. S
atisfactory separation not only of each the three groups of the nonami
dated and amidated bile acid 3-glucosides but also of the individual c
ompounds in the same group was attained by employing acetonitrile-0.3%
potassium phosphate buffer (pH, 7.0) as mobile phase. The retention d
ata reported here provide an insight into structural elucidation of th
ese biologically important bile acid 3-glucosides.
