The triplet and singlet state properties of the title compound are rep
orted: nitroxyl free radicals and oxygen enhance the triplet yield sig
nificantly; electron transfer from the singlet excited state to methyl
viologen in acetonitrile produced the corresponding free radicals whi
ch recombine with second-order kinetics.
