Abstract
A device for duration measurements of picosecond and subpicosecond opt ical pulses in single shot is described. This scheme allows to measure an autocorrelation trace with a dynamic range of more than 10(3). Ope ration is demonstrated by investigation of the temporal properties of mode-locked Nd:glass laser pulses.
