Kf. Leinfelder, AN EVALUATION OF CASTING ALLOYS USEDFOR RESTORATIVE PROCEDURES, The Journal of the American Dental Association, 128(1), 1997, pp. 37-45
Dental casting alloys have played a major role in the restorative proc
ess for three-quarters of a century. Gold-based compositions were used
almost exclusively for most of that time-but because of their relativ
ely high cost, they began to be replaced by a number of base metal all
oys. This article discusses some of the most recent findings about the
compositions of alloy systems and the possible tissue responses to th
ose systems.
