The formation and stability of some mixed Copper(II)-O-carboxylic liga
nd complexes, has been studied by potentiometric measurements, at T =
25-degrees-C and I = 1 mol/1 (NaClO4). In both systems investigated (C
u2+-acetate-malonate and Cu2+-acetate-succinate), the mixed species Cu
(acetate)L (L=dicarboxylate ligand) was found. Particular attention ha
s been paid to avoid bias in the calculation of stability constants. T
he possibility of using these formation constants in the speciation pr
oblem of multicomponent systems is discussed.
