Abstract
Effect of synthetic beta-carotene and a yeast strain, as a probiotic, were studied on the effectiveness of superovulation and embryo recover y in cows. Besides, certain blood parameters (Hb-concentration, packed cell volume, total protein-, albumin-, urea-, inorganic phosphorous-, cholesterol- and total carotene-content, alkalic phosphatase activity ) were determined to see their direct or indirect effect on the carote ne-, cholesterol-, protein-, as well as phosphorous metabolism of cows .
