Abstract
Through-focus electron holography and quantitative electron diffractio n have been applied to determine the structure of the 21 K superconduc tor ThPd(x)B6-2x with xalmost-equal-to0.65. This compound adopts a cub ic structure (a = 0.42 nm; space group, Pm3BARm), which is an intermed iate between the structures of the CaB6 and Cu3Au. Short-range orderin g results in a superstructure as is evident from diffuse streaks in th e electron diffraction pattern.
