Abstract
Examination of 40 sidewinder rattlesnakes, Crotalus cerastes, revealed the presence of the nematode Hexametra boddaertii (prevalence 5%, mea n intensity 3.5) in the small intestine. This is a new host record and the first report of a natural infection by the genus Hexametra in Cal ifornia.
